News: Zoé Basha Shines On New Album ‘Gamble’

French-American musician and composer Zoé Basha releases the long awaited debut album Gamble

Based in Dublin Basha delivers a collection of tracks that move between country, folk and jazz; from elegant acapella tracks, to moments of buoyant guitar and fiddle, to others of soulful vocals over piano, double bass and delicate drums. Across its tracks, Basha lays bare themes of grief, belonging, desire, and quiet resilience, drawing listeners into the raw, reflective world she’s crafted through years of busking, train-hopping, and backroad wandering.

Basha’s voice — often likened to the aching nostalgia of vintage jazz icons — guides each song with a storyteller’s grace. There’s something timeless in her delivery, echoing the ghosts of Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf while also carrying an undercurrent of Joni Mitchell.

Self-produced with surgical precision and emotional clarity, Gamble was mixed and mastered by Grammy Award-winner Ben Rawlins, and features warm, textural contributions from Ultan Lavery (Trá Pháidín, Ether Ensemble) on keys and organ.

Zoé Basha will tour Ireland in spring 2025, with Lavery joining her live ensemble. Tickets are available now here.
