Taken from her forthcoming debut album ‘Distance’, co-produced by Gordon Raphael (The Strokes), we’re delighted to premiere the new song from Berlin based singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Johanna Amelie, Into Blue. Of the track she says “Into Blue is a song about a near-death experience. My idea was to express a contrast of opposites in the lyrics and in the melodies – dark and light, a state between being awake and asleep.”
It’s this immediately emotive and deeply melodic slice of folk indie. The backing gradually flowers from its stripped back start, with organ lines cascading over the abrupt guitar and melancholy vocal harmonies that draw the emotion out of the track. Amelie’s vocal lines shroud the track, the strength and meaning in her voice almost takes your breath away.
Check it out, here

‘Distance’ will be released on Zero Hours Records on June 1st 2018.
