Ahead of their new album ‘Silverlinings’, Lutruwita/Tasmanian trio Verticoli release their new single ‘Home’ tomorrow, and it’s great to have them back. We are honoured to bring you an early listen.
Delivering their usual visceral and vibrant sounds, ‘Home’ contains scything guitars and a driving rhythm with singer Sam Hunn’s huge vocals: a sound that encompasses many elements of nineties grunge – a little Pearl Jam, a little Smashing Pumpkins – but with their own style and panache.
As always, there is something of their sound that reflect the wilderness of of their home: rough, raw and epic – a widescreen cinematic sound that reverberates like the ocean crashing in from Antarctica.
‘Home ‘ is out tomorrow and will be available to download and stream via all the usual sites here.
Verticoli released their self-titled EP in 2013, followed by their LP ‘Punching Bag’ in 2015. The ‘Free Will’ EP was released in 2017 and received significant community radio attention, followed by the ‘Heavy’ EP in 2021. 2022 saw the band releasing their sophomore album ‘The Echo’ and touring the East coast in support of it.
