Cardiff’s Boy Azooga are a musical mystery tour comprised of Davey Newington, Daf Davies, Dylan Morgan and Sam Barnes. This week they announced details of the release of their debut LP 1,2 Kung Fu! on Heavenly Recordings on 8th June 2018 and alongside they have thrust forth the video to ‘Loner Boogie’, an infectious swampy-fuzz of an ear worm.
The video directed by local film-maker Toby Cameron is a kaleidoscopic, hallucinatory rush. Talking about the video, leader of the pack Davey Newington said: “it’s a scary world out there these days, sometimes you don’t want to go outside. Sometimes you get the Loner Boogie. Follow us into the Cardiff Transport Club for some fish-eye Kung Fu and a Guinness with the legendary Kliph Scurlock. Not sure he’s that into it to be honest though.”
