See: The Lonely Together release video for Congregation

Maybe it’s The Lonely Togethers Scottish roots, but there’s something of both the Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol about them. A mixture of the anthemic and the emotional, if you like. It wrapped up in swathes of guitars and atmospheric backing vocals, aiming to, according to the band themselves “carve(ing) a mysterious path through love and sadness, hope and anger, beauty and pain”. If that’s the aim, they manage to get pretty close, this constant teetering on the edge of the epic, drifting over this aching, melancholy melody makes it, well, beautiful.

The video focuses on Edinburgh’s social underclass, and features former Exploited member and actor Gary McCormack as a drunk about town. Check it out, here
