Track : Filiah Shines On Beautiful New Single ‘On & On’

Austrian indie-folk singer-songwriter Filiah shines on the new single ‘On & On’, out now via Ink Music.

Comparable to Feist, the single brings a radiant and beautiful musicality through an organic soundscape of strummed acoustics, tight drums, grounding bass and swells of slide guitar under the soft, crystalline and emotive lead vocals. Intimate through its heartfelt yet melancholic delivery and radiant harmonies, ‘the track ‘On & On’ balances its catchy melodies with sonic depth and sincerity.

her luminous new single out April 11th via Ink Music (home to My Ugly Clementine and Leyya). Following January’s introspective “Atlas”—her first release in two years—“On & On” sees Filiah further define her sonic identity with a sound that is both emotionally resonant and rhythmically compelling.

Thematically, the track explores the tangled web of shame, self-awareness, and healing with poetic precision. Lines like “I’m so scared to disappear, but the further I go the safer I feel.” capture the tension between isolation and liberation—feelings all too familiar to those navigating their own emotional landscapes.

“Shame in various forms used to affect a lot of the choices that I made, and I think it does with a lot of people, more or less consciously,” Filiah explains. “‘On & On’ is about working through those feelings, facing them head-on, and finding freedom on the other side. I wanted to write a song that feels uplifting and hopeful, like the first rays of spring sunshine, yet hides some dark shades as well, if you choose to look beneath. Also, I found it’s the perfect song to either confidence-walk down the street or dance-vacuum to.”

Co-written during an Ink Music songwriting camp with collaborators Phil and Fredi, the single draws influence from ’70s soft rock and modern alt-pop, evoking elements of both Fleetwood Mac and Phoebe Bridgers.
