Diplo’s Major Lazer project, alongside MC Walshy Fire and Trinidadian Jillionaire, is back with a new track ‘Can’t take it from me’, featuring Skip Marley. Billed as a Jamaican commando character who lost an arm (replaced by a Lazer) in the secret zombie wars, Major Lazer is principally concerned with freeing the world using music. What is now known from his reappearance is that he has found enlightenment and has given up his physical body. Apparently.
Essentially build on this gluey, bassy backing, Cant take it from me is a slice of joyful bass/reggae influenced pop music. Marley’s voice oozes sunshine, and it’s complimented by the melodies, which stick to you straight away.
