Track: North Sea Navigator – Pure Modulations in Space and Time

North Sea Navigator is essentially the project of former Gravenhurst guitarist Paul Nash. Ahead of his/their debut album ‘The Memory Clears the Space for What’s Needed’ out on Blurred Recordings on April 13th they’ve shared a new track, Pure Modulations in Space and Time Now a four piece, with the additions of Charlotte Nicholls (Portishead, Crippled Black Phoenix) and Timothy X Atack (Angel Tech, Sleepdogs), and latterly Neil Johnson (Angel Tech), the album features guest vocalists Nadine Gingell (pka Lady Nade) and Jo Mary Butler, as well as guest spoken-word artist/actor Joe Shire.

Pure Modulations in Space and Time has this ethereal, haunting beauty about it – layers of synth noise are brought to life by the strings that gently and persuasively permeate the sound. Over the top the quivering falsetto of the vocal, provided by Lady Nade, is the wistful sound of heartbreak. It’s truly lovely stuff.
