Track: The Stray Pursuit Share Explosive New Single ‘Coming Home’

Swansea rockers The Stray Pursuit share the high-octane new single ‘Coming Home’, released on October 16th.

Produced and recorded by Grammy-nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda at Long Wave Recording Studios in Cardiff, ‘Coming Home’ captures an anthemic quality thanks to its tight, thunderous distortion soaked riffs and punching drums, creating a backdrop as comparable to Royal Blood as it is to elements of Muse, Green Day and even touching on the likes of Deftones.

Led by gritty, urgent yet strikingly melodic and catchy vocals comparable to Liam Gallagher, the track delicately balances it’s heavy rock punch with an accessible flair which ultimately places it firmly in alt-rock rather than the heavier spectrum which some elements of the track suggest.

The band describe ‘Coming Home’ as an unflinching look at the illusion of freedom in a world manipulated by control and deception. “It’s not about returning to safety,” they explain. “It’s about waking up, breaking the spell, and realising that home was never what they said it was.”

The Stray Pursuit’s ascent has been anything but quiet, with support slots alongside Andrew Cushin, The K’s, and Vida, and performances with The Lottery Winners, Pastel, and Trampolene adding to their growing credentials. They’ve already been spotlighted as part of This Feeling’s Big in 2025 and featured on Drowned in Sound’s ‘Class of 2025’ in association with the Music Venue Alliance, marking them as clear ones to watch.

The band’s journey has been defined by both triumph and tragedy. In December 2022, they lost founding drummer Nicky Bevan, whose passing deeply affected the band and their community. Rather than slow down, The Stray Pursuit channelled their grief into purpose—a vow to honour Nicky’s legacy through their music. “He’s missed dearly and forever cherished,” they say. With Ben Lewis joining on drums in April 2023, the line-up was complete once again: Aaron Morgan on vocals, Dylan Cooney on lead guitar, Fred Wilkinson on bass, and Ben Lewis on drums. Together, they’ve forged ahead with renewed passion.

Now, with ‘Coming Home’ out in the world, The Stray Pursuit continue to build a momentum with more new music on the horizon.
