An Evening with Halestorm hit Dublin’s 3Olympia. On this tour Halestorm have chosen to support themselves with an opening acoustic set, tonight that set consists of seven songs.
Heart of Novocaine
Raise Your Horns
Parachutes
I’m Not An Angel
Whiskey in the Jar (Thin Lizzy cover)
Better Sorry Then Safe (with Piece of my Heart mixed in)
Mz. Hyde.

Lzzy opened this set by playing the first two songs alone on stage with just keyboards, after which her band members come out on stage and they all take seats for most of the set. Lzzy opting to stand for the last two.

Its a 20 minute change over between sets as the whole stage design is changed. The band re-emerge and some band members have also opted for an outfit change.
The set opens with the tracks Bombshell / Love Bites (So Do I) / I Get Off / Do Not Disturb / Rock Show
/ Takes My Life.
At one point the band leave the stage leaving Arejay alone on stage doing a brief stand up comedy act, after which the band are back on stage. The song Freak Like Me is introduce by Lzzy saying Dublin we are all freaks tonight. Its then the track Amen with added (ext bridge and drum solos/jam) after which we get a five minute drum solo from Arejay in which he carry’s out a number of drum stick tricks and finishes out with very over sized drum sticks.
Band back on for Back from the Dead / The Steeple / Killing Ourselves to Live. Its encore time with shouts of one more tune and ola ola ola ola which has for far to long became synonymous with encores at Irish shows ( imop) . Started way back during Italy 90.
The Band finish out with three more songs, Here’s to Us / I Am the Fire / I Miss the Misery (extended outro)

Ian Mc Donnell

Irish based concert photographer, maybe! ever so slightly addicted to gigs. Listens mostly to alternative / goth / folk punk / punk / ska. I blame the 80s.
