The SSS have unveiled a brand new single due for release in early November. Following on from their “Love, Lust, Loss” EP which featured the cracking “Eighteen”, “Calm Before the Storm”, “Pirati” and “Into the Sun”, the band release “The One You Need” which sets the bar even higher.
The band have been previously compared to other local heroes, the Arctic Monkeys and I myself (live review here) have suggested comparisons with acts like The Coral or The Zutons especially on the darker more wistful tracks. “The One You Need” is such a track, with a darkly melodic Merseybeat vibe and slightly haunting instrumentation making this a modern indie classic, one of those songs to yell out from the moshpit to your best friend or to mouth to that girl you fancy on the dancefloor at thT on their hands and I look forward to seeing them play their biggest home gig to date, at City Hall in late November.
