CMAT’s music has always lived in liminal spaces: somewhere between unfiltered confessional and big-hearted pop theater, with hooks that mask heartbreak in glitter. And now, Australian audiences will get their first taste of her genius.

CMAT will be heading to Australia for the first time, landing for two exclusive headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne this January 2025. These intimate gig sarrive just in time to coincide with her performances at A Day on the Green alongside The Teskey Brothers, offering fans a fleeting chance to witness her magic up close before she slips away, back into the ether. Joining CMAT at her headline shows will be singer-songwriter Ella Hooper.

What makes these headline shows stand out isn’t just their scarcity—it’s the distinct energy CMAT brings to the stage: an irreverent blend of humour, heartbreak, and hope.

“The Nolans making a record with Glen Campbell, which would go on to be covered by Paris Hilton.” CMAT describing her sound

The charismatic Irish singer-songwriter, CMAT (Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson) has quickly risen to prominence with her unique blend of indie-pop and country, blending the storytelling tradition of classic country with a modern pop sensibility.

Her 2022 debut If My Wife New I’d Be Dead didn’t just make waves—it uprooted everything, earning CMAT the Choice Music Award for Irish Album of the Year and solidifying her as one of the most original voices in modern pop. With her latest album, Crazymad, For Me, she has only sharpened her vision. Tracks like “Stay For Something” and the haunting duet “Where Are Your Kids Tonight” pushed her even further into the spotlight, landing her a Brit Award nomination, an Ivor Novello nod for Best Album, and a Mercury Prize nomination for Album of the Year.

Her music plays like a masterclass in making vulnerability contagious—delivering poignant lyrics under the veil of pop perfection. And just when you think she’s taken a breath, CMAT drops Aw, Shoot, a standalone single so addictive it could make heartbreak feel like a dancefloor anthem.
