Still fierce, still poetic, and still commanding stages across the globe, New Model Army have carved out a relentless schedule of over 100 live performances across more than 20 countries in 2024. Now, it’s Australia and New Zealand’s turn. For the first time ever, the UK post-punk giants will touch down in Auckland, alongside major stops in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth.

Formed in Bradford, UK, in 1980, New Model Army show no signs of easing off the throttle, charging into their fifth decade with the same raw intensity that first ignited their cult following. Their 16th studio album, Unbroken, dropped in January 2024 to widespread acclaim, soaring to high positions on charts worldwide. Full of soaring guitars, biting social commentary, and Justin Sullivan’s unmistakable, soul-stirring vocals, the record is a testament to a band as fiery as ever. Fans have been quick to embrace it, hailing it as a return to their most powerful and poetic form.

Led by the ever-present Sullivan, New Model Army’s lineup may have shifted over the decades, but their musical DNA remains fiercely intact. Originally featuring Sullivan on vocals and guitar, alongside bassist Stuart Morrow and drummer Phil Tompkins, the band has grown and evolved, blending influences from punk, folk, soul, metal, and classical music into a sound that’s both timeless and politically charged. Sullivan’s lyrics—whether railing against injustice or meditating on the spiritual—have always been the lifeblood of their legacy, connecting deeply with audiences from every generation.
