Premiere: Portland collective Family Worship Center let the good times roll on ‘Snake Dance’

‘So we just do whatever, right?’ is how we imagine the photo shoot went, but Portland nine-piece Family Worship Center are much more focused on record. Five of the eight songs on their debut album hover around the 5-minute mark at minimum. Their new video features aliens getting down to ‘Snake Dance’, one of the highlights from said debut album. They’re not your average band.

Southern rock, soul and the strains of secularised gospel music make up the core ingredients of their wide-ranging sound – led by Andy Krissberg, they’ve been biding their time since 2017, with only one EP to go on until now. That was 2020’s Sunday A.M., but it serves as a pretty good primer for the record. Get weird with them down below; we’re premiering the new clip, the final single from Kicked Out of the Garden, out a week from Friday on September 8th.

Previous Track: Taking post-rock further - New Age Doom & Tuvaband preview new album ‘There Is No End’ with the climactic title track.
Next Track: It's 'not the same' for KHAOS EMRLD as his second single takes off with a bang ahead of launch dates.
