Funeral For A Friend have announced the Last Chance To Dance tour, that will take place next year from February to April. Covering everywhere from Australia to the UK, the band have also announced that this tour will be their last after fifteen years as a band.
Vocalist Matt Davies-Kreye explained his feelings on this final tour; “It’s the natural end. We’ve done everything we set out to do and way more than I could ever have hoped so I’m not upset that it’s run its course.”
Despite the circumstances, these shows look set to be pretty special, and a little different to the way bands have chosen to go out before them. Each town they visit will be treated to two shows on consecutive nights in the same venue; the first will be an Hours show, and the second will be dedicated to Causally Dressed and Deep In Conversation. “For me it seemed obvious to go out with both Hours and Casually Dressed. I feel that both those records distil what Funeral is to a whole load of people more definitively than just piecing together a set from all the records we’ve made.”
After their beginning in 2001, Funeral For A Friend have developed their own unique take on post-hardcore, and have established themselves as one of the most influential bands on the UK rock scene today. Their final album, released earlier this year via Distiller Records is described by Matt as “a pretty decent full stop to an incredible fourteen and a half years of making music together.”
