Track: Diet Cig – Barf Day

There’s something of the c86 about duo Diet Cig that makes you want to instantly wrap your arms around them. In their new track, the delightfully titled Barf Day, singer Alex Luciano sings of missed parties, ice creams and her seeming inability to keep plants alive in her fresh faced but almost fragile way. Equally fragile is the song, with the sort of wistful melody that could warm the cockles of the most ignorant. They’ve beefed up the accompaniment though, albeit only guitar and bandmate Noah Bowman’s driving percussion, pulled it through a grater and made it this messy splash of quasi garage.

It’s taken from the bands debut album “Swear I’m Good At This” out April 7th on Frenchkiss.
