Track: Thievery Corporation – Let The Chalice Blaze

Thievery Corporation are back with their new track, “Let the Chalice Blaze”.  After 20 years, you may be familiar with the sophisticated shuffling bossa nova beats, but it’s still impossible to resist the head nodding on a Thievery Co track, especially when the cowbell kicks in.

With the new album recorded in Jamaica, it’s reggae influences to the fore, particularly  dub, and yet it all feels impeccably Thievery Corporation.  There’s another preview track from the new album in Letters To The Editor, which manages to sound just as sophisticated despite the driving vocals, like an Occupy protestor in a bespoke suit.

The track is a preview of the new album “The Temple of I and I” which is out February 10th.  And there’s a European tour also – finishing at the Roundhouse.

Tour Dates
Feb 15 Lisbon Coliseum, Lisbon
Feb 17 Razzmatazz, Barcelona
Feb 19 Fabrique, Milan
Feb 20 Kaserne, Basel
Feb 22 L’Alhambra, Paris

Feb 26 Konzerthaus, Vienna
