Legendary Austin, Texas psych-rockers, The Black Angels have announced their new album Wilderness of Mirrors, which is due out on the 16th of September on Partisan Records/Liberator Music.

Following on from their acclaimed 2017 album, Death Song, Wilderness of Mirrors is their first new full-length studio release in 5 years, and adds full-length album #7 to their already impressive discography

Fans will be treated to fifteen new songs, with El Jardin, the first single from the album leading the way. The release promises to showcase an expert refinement of the Black Angels’ psychedelic rock attack alongside a host of intriguing sounds and textures. There will be the classic blast of fuzzed-out guitars meant to simultaneously perk up the ears and jumpstart the mind, alongside melancholy, acoustic guitar-driven newfound experiments. Mellotron, strings, and other keyboards will also play a more prominent role on Wilderness of Mirrors than on previous outings.

Lead single, El Jardin tells the tale of a dystopian future where Mother Earth has died due to humanity killing her, and the only way she can be experienced is through virtual reality, a salient point which can be foreseen in our everyday use of social media as a major experience of the world around us.

Since forming in 2004 and releasing their debut album in 2006, The Black Angels have taken the mantle as one of the leading protagonists of heavy, new-age psychedelic music, and this new LP promises to maintain that position.
