Portland-based Vibrissae may call the Pacific Northwest their home, but all three members hail from different parts of the world. Those transatlantic
roots show in the band’s sound. A cool mix of hazy post-punk, dizzying shoegaze, and electronic swells give the band an early 90s vibe that crashes with a post-modern aftertaste. Think Blonde Redhead, Cocteau Twins, and early Breeders coming together to bash you into blissful submission.
Imber Lingard, Emma Bell, and Aaron Bell came together in Portland with a shared love of shoegaze, electronic, and modern rock music. Lingard originally from Australia, Emma hailing originally from Malaysia, and Aaron Bell from the US. Vibrissae’s debut is the result of over three years of rehearsal and recording.
