Lasca Dry is an exciting artist coming from the southern edges of the world in lutriwita/Tasmania with an established reputation for her sparkling form of iridescent pop. We are therefore truly honoured to premiere her new single ‘Sunset Baby’ which sets the expansive skies over Australia alight with its transcendent irrepressible bounce and sixties-flavoured bubblegum pop aura.
And heaven knows in the current climes how precious this radiant blast is. Dry says of the track
‘Sunset Baby’ is about the blurry line between love and obsession—the kind of passion that’s beautiful, intense, and just a little dangerous.
Indeed, every note is imbued with Dry’s infectious passion.
The video by Jesse Hunniford seems to bottle that very tangible vitality. Dry says:
From the very beginning, ‘Sunset Baby’ was all about that perfect sunset vibe. I wrote the song with that golden hour magic in mind, and I knew the video had to capture it. With Jesse Hunniford working his magic on the lighting, we created the perfect mix of warmth and intensity, capturing the song’s cheeky yet passionate energy.
This is joyous stuff that’s so catchy it should carry a health warning:
‘Sunset Baby’ is out tomorrow (Thursday, 6 February) and available to download and stream via all the usual sites.
You can catch Dry live at the Party in The Paddock Festival (6-9 February) and Bass in the Domain Festival in nipaluna/Hobart on 15 March.
